By registering as a member of Boots Volunteers, you agree that Boots may use your personal information, including your gender and ethnicity and any other information you provide, to assess your eligibility for studies and invite you to take part. Please note we do not exchange any of your details with any other area of Boots. You can find out more about how we use your personal information in our Privacy Policy.
Please read all the statements below carefully. You will need to give your consent for each item when you register on Boots Volunteers.
- You wish to be a member of the Boots volunteer panel.
- Your details will be added to a database managed by Boots at www.bootsvolunteers.com
- To protect your personal details, you will not share your login password with any other person.
- Only one account per person is permitted on Boots Volunteers.
- It is your responsibility to provide accurate and personal information, and this may impact on your suitability to take part in a study.
- Products you are sent to test are for your personal use only and should not be passed onto or shared with anyone unless otherwise specified.
- When testing a product at home you agree to test the product in accordance with the instructions provided and complete the online feedback within the given time frame.
- When testing products, you will give your honest feedback and any feedback provided (including free text comments) may be used for research and for making marketing claims in relation to the product. These comments will have your name, age and town/city associated to them. You can opt to have these pseudonymised if you prefer.
- All information about the product testing you are involved in is strictly confidential and you agree to use reasonable efforts to prevent sharing any details of the products themselves or your opinions / results with anyone else including sharing on social media.
- To be selected for studies and to provide your online feedback you must allow emails from SurveyMonkey™ and any information you provide will be kept confidential on our behalf by SurveyMonkey™ for up to 2 years.
- Unless stated otherwise, you will not receive any payment for testing products at home, but you will be able to retain any unused product after the study has completed, unless you are advised otherwise at the start of the study.
- If you are unable to test a product that you receive at home or if you develop a reaction to the product, you may be asked to return the product.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not test any products where you have a known allergy to any of the product ingredients or allergy to similar types of products to those being tested.
- The products you will be testing have undergone raw material assessment and safety profiling but there is still a small risk that you may have a reaction as this testing is part of the safety evaluation.
- If you develop a possible reaction to a product, you agree for Boots to contact you for further information until the reaction is resolved. You also agree for Boots to contact your GP if required.
- Non-compliance with any procedure may result in your exclusion from any study, along with your withdrawal from the panel. Boots reserves the right to make this decision at any time.
- There is no obligation for you to test products and you can withdraw from a study at any time.
- You will be asked to re-confirm your panel membership approximately every 3 years.
- You must confirm that you have read and agree with the information provided in our Privacy Policy.
- Failure to comply with the above terms and conditions may result in your Boots Volunteers account being suspended or removed.
- The sensitive information you provide including details of your ethnicity and medical information will be used to select you for studies you may be suitable for.
- From time to time you may be sent questionnaires that do not involve testing a physical product but may involve testing an online site or asking for your experience(s).
